Our ancestors believed that color held magical properties. It could be used to ward off evil spirits, attract good ones, and even heal the sick. While in this age of hard science and cool technology we may view such beliefs with skepticism, our fascination with color has taken on new forms. Biochemists, environmental and industrial psychologists, make-up experts, wardrobe consultants, and, of course, advertising pros have studied color and found how it affects mood, health, image, perception, even heart rate. Certain colors can prompt you to eat faster, perceive objects differently, and even make you spend more money.
Although babies are drawn most strongly to bright colors, and children often prefer solid, vibrant hues, adults tend to choose more subdued tints and shades of color: pink and rose or maroon. To surround yourself with what you feel comfortable is most important. Certain colors can ramp up your mood, but only if they appeal to you. If they don't, they can do the opposite.

RED – This is the color of extroversion, of a person with desire, appetite, a will to live life fully. You are somewhat aggressive, impulsive, perhaps athletic, surely quick to release your feelings and emotions. You have many ups and downs in your feelings.
To you, life is meant to be happy, and when it isn’t, you are confused and upset. You hate monotony, are quick to judge people, quick to form opinions and boldly express them.
ORANGE – Generally you are good-natured, likable and social, you make friends easily, with an easy smile and a talent for small talk.
Chances are better than even that you will not marry, and if you do, your marriage will be one of light affection. You prefer friendliness and companionship to adoration. A natural born politician, you shine at any occupation in which you meet groups of people. You seldom indulge in serious thought or severe discipline.
YELLOW – You have great expectations and diligently seek self-fulfillment. Yellow is the hue of idealism – you have a superior mind and you use it. Your manner may be aloof, but you are not shy. You may occasionally feel an awkward moment, but you never get rattled.
In many respects you are a longer. You are good at formulating plans, but may not be energetic enough to carry them out. You think things through clearly, are logical and consistent.

BLUE-GREEN – A fastidious person, you have good taste, dress well and probably are a connoisseur of good food and wine. You are poised and apparently self-controlled though inside you may feel tense. You would perish without love and admiration.
The man who likes blue-green may be conceited, sophisticated, well-groomed, witty and sarcastic. The woman who likes this hue has a remarkable sense of fashion, is vain, mysterious – and ever charming, with exception appeal to men.
BLUE – You want a serene world and a calm life and you want your affairs to be orderly and neat. An introvert, you are deliberate, introspective, but perhaps not too intellectual. Steady and a hard worker, you will probably be successful and make a lot of money.
Though you have a tendency to be egotistical and opinionated, you know how to accept responsibility and obligation. You are sensitive to others and have a secure hold on your emotions.
PURPLE – Two types of people like purple. The first is sensitive, with deep insight, temperamental and creative with meaningful things to do and passionate devotion to them. The second type admires artists, mystics and unique people. This type feels there should be gentility, courtesy and affection everywhere, and no war, disease or poverty.

BEIGE – Beige represents the basics, the essentials and the barest from. It also indicates ones neutral or unbiased position.
BLACK – Saturn is attracted by black, and because Saturn has a negative effect on children, youngsters are cautioned never to wear black clothing. It is a good color, however, for persons born under the signs of Libra, Aquarius, or Capricorn. In many cultures black in general symbolizes the unknown, unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, hate or malice, but also dignity.
BURGUNDY – The color burgundy is said to symbolize wealth, success, and prosperity. It is indicative of ones potential power.
FUCHSIA – The color fuchsia represents ones connection to spirituality and meditation. This color is also associated with emotional stability.
GOLD – The golden color reflects spiritual rewards, richness, and refinement. Just as the color yellow, gold is associated with the sun and lucky for just about everyone.
PEACH – Peach is the color of innocent love intermixed with wisdom.
SILVER – Silver represents justice and purity. It is symbolic of some protective energy.
TEAL – The color teal indicates a touch of sophistication and richness. It is also said to signify trustworthiness, devotion and healing and is indicative of spiritual guidance and teaching.
TURQUOISE – Turquoise is symbolic of healing power and natural energy. It is often associated with the sun, fire, and male power.
VIOLET – Violet denotes high spirituality, religious aspiration, purification, affection, gentleness, charm, and peacefulness.
WHITE – The classic color of purity, white (or silver) is especially lucky for people born under the sign of Cancer, Gemini or Virgo. Though in some cultures, a white horse, a white cat of a white mouse are all considered very unlucky, in general, white can bring you good luck. White symbolizes innocence, purity, perfection, peace, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. However, in Eastern cultures, white is associated with death and mourning.
