This was also the name of one of the three Graces or Χαριτες (Charites). Thalia originates in Greek language and means "blooming, blossoming". In Greek mythology, she was the eighth of the nine Muses, the muse of comedy, as well as one of the three Graces, and also one of the fifty Nereids.
